Reflex Gab - Forest
Short for Reflex Gabardine, this high quality 100% polyester fabric is medium weight (215 gm/m2) that is very soft and drapes well. The "reflex" makes it different from typical gabardine in that there is give in the fabric, especially along the bias (diagonal).
Uses: This fabric has a great drape and is fairly easy to work with. It will be a bit slippery to cut, so we recommend laying large pieces on the floor, or using weights to hold the fabric while youpin pattern pieces and cut. It can be ironed on a medium heat (too high of a heat will scorch the fabric giving it a shiny spot, so test first!). We like it for quality capes, robes, suits, pants and heavy skirts. It is our go-to for quality HP robes!
Width: It measures 150cm (59 inches) wide and is sold by the meter. Cuts longer than one meter will be done in one continuous piece.
Care: Fabric can be machine washed and dried on a cool setting. Wrinkles are minimal - hang to dry to prevent them.
Sewing Tip: You WILL need a serger or full lining to work with this fabric as it does fray. Needle size 12 for most projects.
Due to differences in screens, all colors are approximate. Different types of fabrics with the same color name may be different shades due to the manufacturing process. Please inquire if this could be an issue.
